This ad in Hemmings Motor News makes my jaw drop. What year is it? Is it complete? Does it run? Sure is hard to determine from the terrible picture. And $1M plus the amount of tax the IRS would levy (presumably so the seller can net $1M). And to justify that totally insane price he refers to a TV appraisal of a Navajo blanket???

bigAl, you could probably make one with a set of slip rolls, a very durable louvre punch and a stick welder. They aren't the last word in sophistication. an aircooled V8 - 2.9 litres - almost 100mph and 18 mpg  |

It's actually a very stunning car, fully restored. But the seller makes no attempt to show (or describe) the condition. It was very advanced for its time, stylistically at least.
But it's not worth $1M unrestored... And I still fail to understand the reference to a Navajo blanket.
Edit to add: looking again at the very poor sale picture, it would appear the tail lights are missing. I wonder how hard it would be to find replacements, and how much they would cost. Best guess: a lot. |

Question is; back lights missing, what else has been robbed? Engine? Drivetrain? Interior? All very hard to get hold of.
IIRC uk mag Practical Classics ran one for a bit for shits and giggles. It was a very odd setup. |
