Have I missed a joke? just joined (again after watching yesterday) and this thread seems spam crappy. Lots of responses to a thread start that doesn`t seem to make sense.....

Are we playing a testing game here or am I just being thick? (latter may be true)

I can answer seriously plm.

The welcomes are genuine. We are always glad to have new baiters. The advice to read the parts of this site that answer FAQs like stickies (as in they are posts that are permanent) is also genuine and useful.

As for the rest? That is the sort of humour and in-jokes that abound on this forum. One gets used to it. For the benefit of new people when someone is overly praised it usually means they're rubbish and when overly made to sound like an incompetent imbecile it's usually just baiters who know each other very well that get away with it.

The one thing we are all united in is our hatred of fraudsters and scammers and we DO take baiting them seriously while often having a laugh at their expense and with each other.

I appreciate you`ve been a closed community up until now but you have attracted interested parties (me included because I always worry about the wife/parents doing something silly) but due to your TV showing perhaps time to tighten up the posts by the mods?

I was expecting a well organised crew ("anti-scam" crew) of people but this is all looking like a couple of bods in Devon (which is nice and you have good pasties and cream but not really the point).

As Phil says, we take our baiting (and victim advising, bank acount and credit card reporting and site killing) seriously and we are extremely well organised, but we have to have a laugh as well, which is why this is the "General Chat" board.

OK fair enough (not my site) but please take it as someone who uses these boards with at least this structure, frequently having posts like you have are counter productive. Please split off these and don`t cross-link and have a joke/dump thread or something!

I`ll look forward to busting anyone I can in the future but I only work mainly back-end systems so not really the front line scam capture (and certainly nothing paper based).

Oh... should point out that with PCI compliance that backend capture doesn`t compromise your cards! (wow should of mentioned that before)

We've actually been an open community all along. There is a lot of jargon and joking between members here, but we do have a structure that will probably make more sense to you after you're more familiar with our forum.

OK I was going at this as a new user, yep I should look at all the posts and should have a clear place to put my opening comments but I couldn`t find it.

You are doing a really good job but (just my thoughts) you are not presenting it as well as you could. Just look how well a "good" scammer can do it and then consider yourselves :S

You are doing a great service and I hope it continues but you need to pro up or at least consider yourselves it that vein as I hope others will given your TV promo...

What is it that is not being presented as well as it could?

This board is for general chat, so it is a bit of a free for all (within the rules).

Take a look at the Love/Dating forum and you will see each bait has a thread.

Take a look at Hints & Tips and you will see stickies linking to all the important tips.

If you want really organised - go and take a peak in Fake Banks and you will see how well we can follow instructions and rules when we need to.

Then there are the unmeasurable things like the number of victims we have warned and advised on the Scamwarners website - both directly and by posting scammers details for them to find.
