Grim news indeed, the number of fatalities has risen to 8 including the 3 crew of the helicopter. It seems to be the case that the pilot autorotated down and landed on the roof of the pub; the roof subsequently collapsed under the weight of the aircraft. We don't know why the pilot had to conduct an emergency landing but a airworthiness directive was issued in respect of part of the rotor drive for this helicopter and an expert for the BBC has claimed the incident was consistent with a tail rotor drive failure. There will be a lot of people wanting answers, most of all the relatives of those who died. I'm sure they are in all our thoughts today.
