Wasn't too keen on the later collaborations, but I devoured his earlier stuff. The films could never do justice to the books.

This sucks. I have seen the movies and even read Without Remorse which was just a gut churning account of spook work gone rogue. I have been meaning to read more of his books but have not had the time recently. I always found his work to be really good. I think part of that was as a writer I had heard he was interviewing people in the military and (perhaps) intelligence community to give his books as real of a feel as he could.

RIP Tom. I shall have to read more of your works.

I have read most of his books and he certainly drew you in.

I thought the films were good too
